What
a Cover System...

A note from the St. Louis area, Alton
IL to be exact. I called last week looking for a local dealer; I lost
(misplaced) my ground spikes. I made the trip to Dunn's Sporting Goods
in St. Charles and got 2 ground spikes late Friday. My season started
Saturday morning with a severe thunderstorm going on, day 1 a wash
out. The storm rained all day Saturday, Saturday night, and was still
raining with lightening Sunday morning, day 2 also lost. My hunting
partner called Sunday night and we decided 5 a.m. our season would
start.
At 4:30 this morning he shows up and
we are out of the house by 5:00. A 15-minute drive and a 20-minute
walk had us sitting in a fencerow 25 yards apart. He was facing east,
I was shooting west. The hens were clucking in all directions but
no gobbles. Then at 6:15 a gobble from the east, and he was coming
quickly. I looked over my right shoulder and he was 25 yards out heading
right at my buddy, so I turned away and waited for the shot. Nothing...then
a putt; as I looked his way he was 10 yds and closing at me. I was
not moving (the gun still leaning against the tree to my left. He
looked at the decoys, at (towards) me, then came under the fence,
stopped, looked at me again (5 yards) the only thing between him and
I, your 6 Branch Cover System™,
he turned and walked straight away. I retrieved my gun pointed his
direction; at 20 yds. he stopped again, turned to the middle of the
field, and headed for the decoys.
6:35 a.m. my season was over. 22 lbs,
10” beard, 1 1/10" spurs. I truly believe if not for my Cover
System when he came under the fence I would have been busted
and came home empty handed.
